End the ASO Musicians' Lockout!

Please Click to sign!

We, the undersigned, demand the Woodruff Art Center board immediately end the lockout of ASO musicians and resume the 2014-2015 season.

Furthermore, as ardent supporters of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, we demand all future labor disputes will be handled in a talk and play mode – no more lockouts! There are major consequences to a lockout for the larger community and its economy. ASO management is punishing more than the musicians.

While we find Mr. Romanstein’s resignation a step in the right direction for an amicable agreement to be reached between ASO management and the musicians’ union, it is obvious that the Woodruff Arts Center has serious business issues to address. These issues will take time to work through.  A rushed agreement will not be in the best long-term interests of the musicians, the ASO, Woodruff Art Center, and the community.  We demand you end the lockout, continue negotiating with the musicians’ union in a talk and play mode, and begin a thorough process to solving the WAC’s financial issues.

This “deafening silence” will not continue.  Supporters of the ASO musicians and chorus will only get louder should you ignore our demands.

Let the music play!

This petition will be delivered to the Woodruff Arts Center board with copies delivered to Mayor Reed, the Atlanta City Council, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and the Fulton County Commission.
