Wow, look at you! Love the site and catching up with all your accomplishments. It seems like yesterday we were kids just learning from the baton of Miss Talley. Will be following your site and hope to see you conduct sometime soon.

You bring joy, passion and the love of music into the hearts of every
one in the symphony hall.
I love the intensity you hold.
I would like to one day capture that onto canvas.
I am so happy you are with us in Atlanta.
Thank you Maestro.

Hilary Knight / Dorsey, Illinois
Hi Bob, great to see you doing so well!

I don't know if you remember me, I'm Hilary Knight, a former piano student of Diana Barbour. Do you remember our recitals down in the basement of Ray & Diana Barbour's house in Elkhart? And the local radio station WCMR festival of music at Elkhart Central? And Robert Hamilton's master classes at IUSB? Lot's of fun! (Although maybe we didn't think so at the time . . .)

I didn't end up pursuing music as a career, but I enjoy following yours. Looking forward to seeing you perform with the St. Louis Symphony in May - I never miss a performance when you come to town!

Best Regards,
Hilary (Hal) Knight

Oh my gosh! I've looked for you for years! You're obviously doing quite well! It might be almost 30 years, but I still see the guy I knew!
I put out my second CD last year and am creating a TV show now. We've just completed our 7th show. So it's VERY new!
don't know if you remember me, but we knew eachother back in 1980, when we were going to Bob Mitchells house.
I've thought about you so many times over the years and have wanted to thank you for your kindness at a time when I needed it desperately! Thank you!

I was so happy to read in the papers here in Iceland that you would be coming to conduct the Iceland Symphony in December. Looking forward!
We worked together in the Tanglewood Peter Grimes in 1996, when Maestro Seji Ozawa conducted, I was Mrs. Sedley.
All the best to you,

I had no idea you were doing the ring. I saw your interview on the website and flipped out. You probably don't even remember me. I am a friend of Brad Swing's. You were one of the first people I ever met at Oberlin. I will be in the second row. Good Luck tomorrow.

It was so great to hear how well you are doing...per Michael Wambaugh. Growing up in Elkhart must have been brutal for you. I remember in school, as soon as you were done with your work, you would immediately pull out pencil and paper and write your music. Congratulations on all of the success you have had! Viviane

Dear Robert,

Have just spent very fun filled morning with my cousins Lori and Lynn. Lynn, being Justin's mom. I heard rave reviews about you and your musical talents and thought I would check out your site. They were saying you would be conducting here in Seattle sometime this year. I would love to catch that. I have only been to symphony once, at Benaroya Hall, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would love to attend your performance. I will check the calendar on this site. Have a wonderful 2009. Ken Berman / Atlanta
My wife and I have attended numerous performances in Alpharetta.
As opposed to the ever scowling Robert Shaw at Chastain, who rightfully felt that the lack of respect on the part of the imbecelic audience effecting the discipline of the orchestra, the bemused look on your face from the podium tickles me to death, in the nicest possible way. Like you can't believe these moron/rednecks/art patrons (you choose) are walking into the Braves' game in the 3rd inning.

Keep the faith and the good work. I appreciate you very much. I did an avant-garde jazz program for NPR/WABE for 8 years and tried to produce a TV program to intofuce young people to classcial music like Leonard Bernstein's "Young People's Concert'S, W/0 SUCCESS., SORRY TO SAY.

Do you ever see Willie Fred Scott? Give him my fondest regards. I did a lot of volunteer work for the Opera. He was a hell of a nice guy.

Regards,
Ken Berman
